Types of E-commerce

The first one is BUISNESS to CUSTOMER, B2C businesses sells directly to their end users. Anything you buy in an online store as a consumer from wardrobe and household supplies to entertainment is done as part of business to customer transaction.B2C includes products and services as well. Examples include Target.com and Macys.com. These go between put buyers and sellers together without owning the product or service.(Big Commerce, 2022)

The second one includes Business to Business, a business sells its products or services to another business. Sometimes, the buyer is the end user but the buyer often resells to the consumer. B2B transactions generally have a longer sales cycle. As younger generations enter the age of making business transactions, B2B selling online space is becoming more important. Examples include ecommerce business sites such as Amazon business, Alibaba business. Tires, electronics are usually manufactured by various companies and sold directly to automobile manufacturer. The third one is Business to business to customer, it is a business where company sells its own product or service in partnership with other organization to an end customer.(Big Commerce, 2022)

The next one is business to government, where a business sells and markets its product to government entities or public administrations. A small scale offering IT services to a regional government institution would be a good example of B2G.(Big Commerce, 2022)

The other one is customer to business, allow individuals to sell goods and services to companies. It is a competitive edge in pricing for goods and services. Affiliate marketing services would be considered best example of C2B.(Big Commerce, 2022)

The direct to customer, sells its own product directly to its end customer, without the help of third party wholesales or online retailers. The best example is Apple because it sells its products through their websites to consumer. The last one is CONSUMER to CONSUMER, connect consumers to exchange goods and services and typically make their money by charging transaction or listing fees. Alibaba and e bay marketplaces are good examples of this type.(Big Commerce, 2022)
